Buying and pricing

How much does a custom sauna cost?

Custom saunas fall into three tiers. Minimum packages run $15,000 to $25,000. Premium packages run $25,000 to $50,000. Ultra luxury builds run $35,000 to $100,000 and up. Size, wood, glass, the heater and the state of the room drive the number. The first conversation is free and takes about twenty minutes, and you get a written quote before anything is ordered.

How much does a sauna kit cost?

Two and three person outdoor kits start at $7,300. Four-person barrels run $8,500 to $14,700, and five and six person barrels, cubes and garden models run $10,100 to $37,400. The Sauna Air Nordic Elegance Spa line runs $50,000 to $70,000. Kit prices cover the structure; add a heater package ($1,600 to $5,500 depending on the model) and delivery to your address. Every product page shows the heater options for that model. Prices on this page are in Canadian dollars; US visitors see US-dollar pricing on each product page.

Is the heater included with a kit?

For barrel, cube and garden kits, no. You choose the heater on the product page and it ships with the kit. Packages run $1,600 to $5,500: Homecraft heaters made in Canada with manual controls at the lower end, HUUM Drop and HIVE heaters with app control at the upper end. Stones and the controller are included in each package. The Sauna Air Nordic Elegance line is the exception: every unit comes with a 9 kW electric heater already installed.

Custom build or kit, which is right for me?

A kit makes sense when you have a level spot outdoors, a 240 V circuit nearby and you want a sauna in weeks rather than months. A custom build makes sense when you want the sauna inside the house, in a specific size or finish, or matched to an existing space like a basement, garage or pool house. Most clients who call us thinking kit end up with a kit; most who send us a photo of a room end up custom. Either way, tell us the space and we will say which fits.

What do you offer?

Custom saunas designed and installed for your space, indoors or outdoors. Outdoor sauna kits from Thermory, SaunaLife, Finnmark and Sauna Air, delivered across Canada and the US. Sauna heaters from HUUM and Homecraft. Cold plunges supplied and installed alongside a sauna. Commercial saunas for hotels, gyms and residential developments. Inland is the Western Canadian dealer for Thermory and an authorized SaunaLife and HUUM dealer.

Can I finance a sauna?

Yes. PayPlan by RBC lets you pay for a kit or a custom build over up to 36 months. Details and the application are on the financing page.

Which sauna is best for home use?

For the classic Finnish experience, a traditional electric sauna: hotter, with steam when you pour water on the rocks. Barrels and cubes give you that outdoors from about $7,300 plus heater. For convenience, a Finnmark infrared cabin: it needs less power, heats in minutes and suits a spare room. If you have the space and the budget, a custom room is the one you will use most because it is exactly where you want it.

What is the difference between an infrared sauna and a traditional sauna?

A traditional sauna heats the air, usually to 70 to 100 °C, and you control humidity by pouring water on the stones. An infrared sauna warms your body directly with infrared panels at a lower air temperature, around 45 to 60 °C, so it feels gentler and takes less power. Both make you sweat. Traditional is the choice for heat and steam; infrared for lower running cost and easier installation.

Delivery

How long does delivery take?

Kits ship from stock in North America. Allow five to seven days for us to prepare the order and seven to fourteen days in transit, so most kits arrive within two to three weeks of your order. We confirm the delivery window when the order is placed.

What is included with delivery?

Residential delivery to major cities across Canada and the US, curbside, with a power tailgate to lift the crate off the truck. You will need a clear, level spot near the driveway for the crate. Remote addresses are quoted individually.

Do you ship across Canada and the US?

Yes. Kits and heaters ship across Canada and the US, and Sauna Air Nordic Elegance units ship directly from Estonia to US addresses. Installation is available in the Okanagan, Calgary and Edmonton; elsewhere, kits are designed for assembly by a handy owner or a local contractor, and we stay on the phone through the build.

Installation and electrical

Do you offer installation?

Yes, throughout the Okanagan Valley, Calgary and Edmonton. Our team assembles kits on your prepared base and connects everything except the final electrical hookup, which a certified electrician completes. Custom builds are installed by our builders from framing to finish.

How long does a custom build take?

The on-site build takes five to twenty days depending on complexity: a straightforward room in about a week, a large room with glass, feature walls and a cold plunge closer to three. The start date depends on the season and our build schedule, so the overall timeline varies; we give you a firm start date with your quote.

What electrical requirements do I need?

Most sauna heaters need a dedicated 240 V circuit; 40 A is the usual minimum, and larger heaters need more. The final connection must be made by a certified electrician. Tell us where the sauna is going and we will give you the exact circuit and breaker size for the heater you choose so your electrician can quote before you buy.

How much space do I need?

A two-person barrel needs a footprint of about 5 by 6.5 feet. A Thermory Square needs about 7 by 8.5 feet. Allow a clear path for the crate on delivery day and some space around the sauna for the door swing and access to the heater. For indoor custom rooms, a closet-sized 4 by 6 foot space is enough for two people; we design to whatever you have.

What does an outdoor sauna sit on?

A level, well-drained base: a concrete pad, patio pavers on compacted gravel, or a deck rated for the weight. The base should extend slightly past the footprint and keep the sauna out of standing water and snowmelt. We confirm the base requirements for your model before delivery.

Heaters

What size of heater do I need?

Heater size follows room volume. Multiply length by width by height in feet to get cubic feet; a well-insulated room needs roughly 1 kW for every 45 to 50 cubic feet, and barrels, glass walls and uninsulated structures need more. In practice that puts most four-person barrels at 7.5 to 9 kW and larger squares and garden models at 9 to 10.5 kW. Send us the dimensions and we will confirm the size.

Can I start the sauna from my phone?

Yes, with a HUUM Drop or HIVE heater, which include app control, or with the Wi-Fi control upgrade on the Homecraft Revive. You set the temperature and start time from anywhere, so the sauna is ready when you get home.

How hot and how humid does a sauna get?

A traditional sauna runs 70 to 100 °C with low humidity, around 10 to 20 percent. Pouring water on the stones raises humidity briefly to 20 to 35 percent and creates the burst of steam Finns call löyly. That is the feeling most people are after, and it is what an electric heater with a good stone load is built for.

Sauna use and health

Are saunas good for you?

Used sensibly, yes. Regular sessions are associated with lower stress, better sleep, improved circulation and faster muscle recovery, and long-term Finnish studies link frequent sauna use with better heart health. Stay hydrated, keep sessions to 15 to 20 minutes, and check with your doctor if you are pregnant or have a heart condition.

Should I sauna before or after a workout?

After. A short session before training can warm up muscles, but the real benefit comes afterward: heat increases blood flow, eases soreness and helps you unwind. Drink water before and after.

Does a sauna help with weight loss?

It helps with water weight in the short term and not much with fat directly. Where it earns its place is recovery, sleep and stress, which make it easier to keep training and eating well. Think of it as a partner to your routine, not a shortcut.

Sauna or steam room?

A sauna is dry heat, 70 to 100 °C; a steam room is wet heat at a lower temperature. Saunas produce a deeper sweat and let you control humidity; steam rooms feel gentler and can help open airways. We build saunas and supply steam room components for people who want both.

Sauna or hot tub?

A sauna is lower maintenance: no chemicals, no water to balance, and it costs less to run. A hot tub is better for soaking sore joints. Many clients who own both use the sauna daily and the hot tub on weekends.

Why do people pair a sauna with a cold plunge?

It is called contrast therapy: heat in the sauna, then a fast cooldown in cold water. People use it for recovery, circulation and the mood lift that follows. We supply and install cold plunges alongside custom saunas and outdoor kits.

Is a sauna good for skin?

Sweating opens pores and clears oil and dirt, so skin tends to look fresher after a session. Shower afterward to rinse the sweat off.

Warranty and support

What warranty do I get?

Kits and heaters carry their manufacturer warranties from Thermory, SaunaLife, Finnmark, Sauna Air, HUUM and Homecraft, and we handle any claim with the manufacturer for you. Custom builds carry our workmanship warranty. The exact terms for your sauna are written into your quote.

What happens after I buy?
